"Despite the press crowd around Obama, McCain's avail today was the one with more promise to make news."

But .....

What's this?
Who's leading the conversation?
This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

Oh well. Guess they'll have to find something else to whine about.

And whining is, of course, by mainstream media standards...news!

What a pitiful press corps we have.

So much for his "fifteen minutes of fame". Classic case of "open mouth, switch feet". Priceless.

caltha:

One commenter at TPM a few weeks ago speculated that because the media has coddled McCain for so many years--he's actually habitually shot off his mouth but simply hasn't been called on it--that he's unready for the tough and rumble of the media covering a presidential nominee.

So, he whines about not getting media coverage. Then when he gets it, he cancels.

Hey, I thought it was Obama that did all the press ducking. At least, that's what I read over at Kathy's column….

Jack, Salon is also calling McCain on this. Bad move methinks. Maybe John should pull his "press kissin' Obama's ass" TV ads if he's gonna avoid them himself...

Indeed the great and perhaps somewhat unexpected benefit to obama of his heralded world tour may be the utter implosion of the Mccain campaign---they simply do not know what to do with themselves over this whole shindig.
